The Calusa Indians, also known as the “shell people,” have lived in Southwest Florida for over 2,000 years. During this Calusa Indian tool demonstration you will get to learn about the various tools they created as you step back in time atop an ancient Calusa Indian Shell Mound. You will be able to swing a real conch hammer, handle a shark tooth carving tool, and try your luck with an ancient atlatl “spear thrower.” This program is appropriate for families with children aged six and up, as well as visitors of all ages.
Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10 am – 10:30 am.
